Wasserwerks: How long have you been involved in the VW/Audi hobby?

Bill Lee: A little over 3 years.

WW: What first got your interest in these types of cars?

BL: Four or five years ago a friend of mine had a corrado g60 and I’ve loved them ever since.  It was the sweetest car I had ever ridden in at that time.

WW: What cars do you presently own?

BL: Presently I own a GTI 1.8T.

WW: What cars do you wish you owned?

BL: I wish I owned a Golf Rallye Mk2

WW: What do you like to do with your car(s) (show/race/etc.)?

BL: I like to drag race my Gti and make as much horsepower as possible.  Right now I have a t3/t4 50trim running 25psi with 380hp and 328torque at 6300rpm.  Motor is a stock 1.8t block.  It is bored and stroked to a 2.0l.  The pistons are Ross pistons, forged rods, and a forged crank.  I have titanium valve springs and retainers a 3angle valve job and mild port work.  Currently the car revs out to 8000rpm.

WW: What are your future plans for your car(s)?

BL: As we speak, I am putting on a tubular manifold with a Garrett GT35/40r.  It will have a 3inch down pipe to a 4inch exhaust.  I am also installing Mocal Oil Cooler.  I just finished installing my fuel system, upgraded lines front to back, fuel pump and injectors.  I hope to achieve 600hp on boost.

WW: What other hobbies do you have?

BL: Welding, poker

WW: What is your best personal VW/Audi story?

BL: Well the corrado that I spoke about earlier, I was with my friend who was buying it at the time and he did not know how to drive standard yet so he asked me to drive it home.  I told him yes, and about half way home I launched it from a stop sign and ended up blowing the super charger.  My friend was wicked pissed at me so I promised him I would help him work on his car.  After many hours of working on the corrado, I realized I was a huge Volkswagen fan and needed to have one of my own.
