Wasserwerks: How long have you been involved in the VW/Audi hobby?

Jason Lincoln: Since I was 17 when I purchased my first GTI.

WW: What first got your interest in these types of cars?

JL: Ted the former owner of Kart Track offered to sell me his 1984 GTI and I turned it down until I saw it in person and first drove it, after that I was hooked.

WW: What cars do you presently own?

JL: 2003 20th Anniversary GTI

WW: What cars do you wish you owned?

JL: 1992 GTI  16v Montana Green

WW: What cars do you wish you still owned?

JL: It’s a split either my first GTI the Rabbit GTI  I purchased from Ted or my first new GTI a 1998 Ginster Yellow GTI

WW: What do you like to do with your car(s) (show/race/etc.)?

JL: I enjoy going to car shows with the car.  Last year the CTVWA show in Woodstock was the best show that I went to lots of food and beer and a great time hanging out with fellow members. Hopefully there will not be 24 hours of daylight this year.

WW: What are your future plans for your car(s)?

JL: Keeping it clean and keeping the mileage low.  If I cleaned the house half as much as the car, the house would always be spotless.  I like the look of the car from the factory so I really have no plans to make changes to the car.  The only future plan I can think of is not to let my wife drive it any more after the rim incident.

WW: What other hobbies do you have?

JL: I like to brew beer IPA and Pale Ales are my favorite to brew on occasion I have brewed a chocolate stout which is very good.  I also like to BBQ and plan on cooking my first full pig for Memorial Day.

WW: What is your best personal VW/Audi story?

JL: I was driving my '84 GTI home from the Bridgehampton race track out on Long Island before they closed and it became a golf course and I had started to nod off and the grooves on the side of the road woke me up and I was really on edge for the rest of the ride home.  Well jut after the exit for the Terryville car show on route 8  on the ride home my uncle who was in the car with me woke up and thought I fell a sleep and screamed in terror and lunged for the steering wheel. I who was already paranoid  about falling asleep again started screaming and fighting him for control of the car.  After swerving all over the road and getting hit several times he finally let go of the steering wheel.
