Wasserwerks: How long have you been involved in the VW/Audi hobby?

Sue Grundy: I think I really became interested in them during high school, but not involved in a club until 1999.

WW: What first got your interest in these types of cars?

SG: My father. He has been a mechanic/lover of German cars forever and I used to work with him on all sorts of Mercedes and VW’s when I was younger.

WW: What cars do you presently own?

SG: ’90 Corrado G60, ’92 Corrado VR6 (For Sale), ’04 Golf TDI, ’87 4000cs quattro, ’90 Audi 90 quattro 20v

WW: What cars do you wish you owned?

SG: R32, Mk2 GTI 16v, S4 TDI (in my dreams of course!), R8 TDI (also in my dreams), and an old DKW 3=3

WW: What cars do you wish you still owned?

SG: ’83 4000 and ’87 Quantum wagon

WW: What do you like to do with your car(s) (show/race/etc.)?

SG: I am planning on showing the G60 this summer. I think Auto-xing with it would also be a lot of fun.

WW: What are your future plans for your car(s)?

SG: Put my European lenses, debadged grill, hood brow and lowering kit onto the G60, get my Audis back on the road and drive them in some snow. I might start looking for a set of R32 or 337 front seats for the TDI, upgrade the front bumper

WW: What other hobbies do you have?

SG: Photography, Snowboarding, Basketball, Snowmobiling, Scrapbooking

WW: What is your best personal VW/Audi Story?

SG: Heading up Mt. Washington when Audi still sponsored it, in 2000 (I believe) with Mark B.’s buddy. I had never gone up the mountain and Mark and his buddy were driving up the mountain to learn the course. Mark found out that I had never been up there and told me to hop in. His VW was full, but we went up in a BMW M3 I think….great experience, I thought we were going to go off the Auto Road a few times, but wow was it cold up there at the end of June!
