Wasserwerks: How
long have you been involved in the VW/Audi hobby?
Jeff Hendrick: Not too
long... I've had the car since last June. I guess I'm just a late bloomer.

WW:
What first got your interest in these types of cars?
JH:
Mr. Barone would not allow me to buy another Honda. Seriously though, after
riding in his MK4, I was sold. I actually almost bought a MK4 VR6, but on
the way home from the test drive, I rode passed Crowley VW. I figured I
would give the new ones a shot and the the rest is history. In stock trim it
out performed the VR that I had just test drove.
WW:
What cars do you presently own?
JH:
07 VW GTI, 91 Chevy Blazer (winter beater), and a recently inherited 89
Jaguar XJS convertible (mmmm... V12 goodness.)
WW:
What cars do you wish you owned?
JH:
I love the S4 Avant and the R8. If money were no object, I would just own a
bunch of cheaper cars... One for each day of the week.

WW: What cars do you wish you
still owned?
JH:
1. My 1969 Chevy Nova... My uncle and I dropped a 454 in it then stripped
everything out that wasn't needed. It was basically a drag car and the 8
miles per gallon killed me as a high school student. 2. My 1989 Nissan
Hardbody. It was turbo charged and rode on a full airbag suspension. The
muscle car guys in Richmond never knew what hit them. 3. My 1994 Mazda RX-7
(RIP). I had it for about 4 months before a lady in a Durango rear ended me
and folded it in half.
WW:
What do you like to do with your car(s) (show/race/etc.)?
JH:
Honestly, I'm a driver. I just love the freedom. Of course, I would like to
eventually show it, but I think I have a long way to go.
WW:
What are your future plans for your car(s)?
JH:
I'm thinking of wheels, but just can't decide what I want. I'm also looking
at the APR KO4 turbo kit. All in due time though.
WW:
What other hobbies do you have?
JH:
I'm a drummer... I've been playing since I was about 8. I also try to work
out as much as I can. I'm usually really busy with work, so my hobbies are
limited.

WW:
What is your best personal VW/Audi Story?
JH:
I guess, so far, it has to be Waterfest last year. Coming from the Japanese
import scene, it was so great to meet so many people that shared the same
interest and accepted everyone else's ideas. It was totally different than
import shows.
